There is a lot of psychological hardship that stands between a woman and her writing. The most significant growth for women writers happened when they know their true selves. One way to stay connected to your writer-self is to ask yourself what is it that you want. What do you long for? What do you yearn to write? What are you willing to reach for and take risks for?
Don’t listen to the voices that say things like, “Oh, don’t say that,” or “You can’t write about that,” or “You’re just wasting your time, you know.” Consult yourself at every step along the way. Listen to your intuition, your inner voice. What is your heart’s desire? Write that.
